Below are several ways to accomplish this. We’d love to hear of ways you increase your gas mileage as well.

1. Inflate your tires to the level recommended on the tire. This will reduce the contact area of your tire to the road and therefore reduce the friction. Filling your tires with nitrogen can also improve your gas mileage.

2. Reduce the weight in your car, emptying out the trunk and removing heavy items that you don't need (keep your spare tire) but get rid of those golf clubs or gardening equipment.

3. Use the correct grade of motor oil in your engine. The grade of the oil pretty much tells us about the viscosity. If you use the wrong grade, you may increase the friction in your engine. It gets hotter and uses more gas.

4. Avoid quick or jack rabbit starts. If you’re in traffic and the light turns green don’t gun it to the next red light only to slam on your brakes. Look ahead and assess the traffic around you. Slow and steady wins the race and save your gas as well.

5. Change your oil in accordance with your maintenance schedule located in your owner’s manual. Again, if your engine get hot it uses more gas.

6. When you’re on the highway use your cruise control. Let the computer regulate the flow of gas into the engine. Driving at a constant consistent speed will save you gas.

7. Shift into neutral when you are standing still to reduce transmission strain and cool off the transmission. Members of our team do this when at busy intersections during rush hour. You can even save gas by turning off your car when you have to wait for a train or while you’re waiting to pick up your kids from school.

8. Try to combine trips. If you live outside of town, try to go into town only once and get everything you need done.

9. Carpool with a neighbor or friends. With multiple people in the car you can use the carpool lanes, you won't have to spend as much time in traffic (idle engines use gas too) and get an even better gas mileage, plus they get home sooner.

10. Drive slower… Yeah, right! Obviously that’s not something many people are all that fond of, particularly with so many being led foot drivers, but it is called a speed LIMIT. If the posted speed limit is 45mph, drive 40mph to 43mph. You’ll save gas and only get there a few minutes later.

Now, it's your turn... We want to hear of the creative ways you all use to save gas so please add your comments below. Can't wait to hear your successes in getting the best fuel economy possible!

With all the gadgets and gizmos that we crave in our vehicles today (features that make us more comfortable, give us a smoother ride or help keep us connected while we're on the road), it's hard to believe that it wasn't until 1950 when Chevrolet introduced the Powerglide transmission, making it the first company to offer a low-priced vehicle with a fully automatic transmission.

Chevrolet's automatic transmission has made driving easier for millions of people through the years, but Chevy's innovation certainly did not stop there, always looking for the next best thing to make the models we sell & service even better. Today, the technological enhancements are endless... OnStar with Turn-by-Turn Navigation, XM Satellite Radio, Active Fuel Management, Bluetooth Wireless Technology for Hands-Free Calling, High-Intensity Discharge Headlamps, Rear Park Assist, Stabilitrak, Heated Seats with 8-Way Power Adjusters, Universal Home Remote, Telescoping Steering Column, Passlock Theft-Deterrent System, Programmable Door Locks, Bose Premium Sound Systems, Tire Pressure Monitor System and Remote Keyless Entry are just some of the bells and whistles on many new Chevrolets, but new advancements are being added every day.

Which of Chevrolet's current gadgets and gizmos do you love the most?
